Install New MVHR Systems & Transforming Communities: A Partnership with Social Housing
In VENTI’s commitment to creating healthier living environments. We are thrilled to share the story of our collaboration with Social Housing. Throughout this project we have enhanced the well-being of residents through the installation of Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems.
Creating a Vision for Improved Living Spaces
At VENTI, we believe that everyone deserves to live in a home with clean, fresh air. VENTI recognised the shared vision with the social housing company to improve living conditions for their residents. We embarked on a journey to install MVHR systems in a sample of their single room dwellings in Lambeth Council. There have been reports of condensation and mould build up in a large community property. The issues faced by the tenants of a lack of ventilation has been due, in some cases, to vents being blocked. This is due to high levels of heat loss and raised energy bills. The MVHR installation has been recognised as a solve to this problem.
The initial installation of units included a four home trial. Ashley, Managing Director of VENTI, was onsite to support the installation of the units and to get initial feedback from the electricians and site managers.
“It was a great experience to be on site with the teams of people renovating the 160+ homes. They were eager to trial the VENTI MVHR systems before rolling out the installations site wide. The importance was placed on having a system that kept condensation to a minimum, retained as much heat as possible and did this without disturbing the tenants. The feedback from the installers is this is exactly how the systems are working. They were impressed with the speed and ease of install, meaning that disruption to the tenants was kept to a minimum.”
Ashley, Managing Director, VENTI Group.
Understanding the MVHR Advantage:
MVHR systems not only ensure a continuous supply of fresh air but also recover and reuse heat that would otherwise be lost. This not only contributes to better indoor air quality but also aligns with sustainability goals by promoting energy efficiency.
The Collaborative Process:
- Assessment and Planning:
– Our team collaborated closely with the Social Housing Group to conduct thorough assessments of each property. They considering the unique needs of the residents and the existing infrastructure.
- Tailored Solutions:
– Recognising the diverse nature of social housing, we designed a customised MVHR solutions that addressed specific ventilation and insulation requirements. This is for the different property types within the group.
- Community Engagement:
– Communication was key throughout the process. We are engaging with residents to explain the benefits of the new systems, addressing any concerns and ensuring a smooth transition.
- Installation Excellence:
– The experienced electricians executed the installations efficiently. They minimised disruption to residents and ensured the systems were seamlessly integrated into each property.
- Training and Support:
– To empower both residents and housing staff, we will be provided training sessions on operating and maintaining the MVHR systems, ensuring their longevity and optimal performance.
Benefits for Residents of MVHR:
- Improved Health and Well-being:
– The new MVHR systems contribute to a healthier indoor environment. They reduce the risk of respiratory issues and promoting overall well-being.
- Energy Savings:
– Residents benefit from reduced energy bills as the MVHR systems recover and reuse heat. The units contribute to a more energy-efficient housing solution.
- Community Satisfaction:
– The positive impact of improved ventilation has fostered a sense of community satisfaction, with residents expressing gratitude for the enhanced living conditions.
